I wonder why the word for bark is tafann. Usually I imagine those sound words, like bark of a dog or hoot of an owl to sound like the word it describing. Like howl or ruff. Was there a particular sound it was mimicking?

It would have been even better, if you explained the sentence exactly word by word. Like what "bhí" is, what "ag" is.

Irish cats are amazing: they can meow in two languages, not to mention their own secrets dialects. It's "miao" or "miau" in Italian and the "proper" verb is miagolare in the infinitive form, which includes the "l" sound, as in Irish! Thank you Bitesize folks, have a feline day.
